Benefits of Beeswax

Pure beeswax is one of nature’s most perfect products. Beeswax is made from the nectar of flowers. The honeybees produce beeswax from wax glands on the sides of their body and use it to create “cells” to store their honey in. It possesses a subtle aroma, the fragrance of honey ingrained with the other scents present in a beehive. On the average, eight pounds of honey are consumed by the bees for each pound of wax made by the colony.

Beeswax is the primary bee product Cross A Ranch uses at this point because it works on human skin because of its compatibility and because it helps us emulsify our creams and lotions. It works well in cosmetic products because of compounds called “wax esthers” that exist in both beeswax and human skin. Benefits of Lanolin

Lanolin comes from the wool of sheep and in the same way that it protects sheep from the harsh effects of the environment, using cosmetic products that contain lanolin will help protect the skin as well. Lanolin is prepared by purifying wool grease that is obtained as a byproduct when sheep wool is finished into wool products. The composition of lanolin is very similar to oils found in human skin, and therefore, lanolin in very compatible with the skin. Among the many positive features of lanolin, one of the most outstanding is the ability to catch and hold water. This feature allows for the moisturizing and emollient effect of Cross A Ranch products known for their softening and soothing effect when applied to the skin. The result is smooth and soft skin. The unique moisturizing and protecting properties of lanolin have enabled us to develop this highly effective moisturizer.
